National Defence Education Learning Materials

In June 2024, a renewed national defence education textbook aligned with the updated curriculum was published in cooperation with Maurus Publishing. The textbook can be purchased from Maurus’s website:Riigikaitse. Õpik gümnaasiumitele ja kutseõppeasutustele | MAURUS (kirjastusmaurus.ee).

The national defence education e-course is available on the Opiq platform.

Compasses for use in national defence education

Schools can order compasses for use in national defence education from the Defence Resources Agency.

To order compasses, submit a freely formatted request digitally signed by the school principal to the Defence Resources Agency. The request should include the number of compasses needed and the school’s address.

Example: “Paide Gymnasium wishes to order 35 compasses from the Defence Resources Agency for use in national defence education. Please send the compasses to the school address at Posti 12, Paide town, 72713 Järva County.”

After reviewing the request, the compass handover-acceptance protocol will be sent to the school principal for signature. Once the protocol is signed by both parties (Defence Resources Agency and the school), the compasses will be sent to the school by mail. By prior arrangement, compasses can also be collected from the Defence Resources Agency’s Tallinn office (Aiandi 15) or Tartu office (Puiestee 114c).
